Poet and Henry G. Lee Professor of English at Pomona College, Claudia Rankine, will speak at the University of Redlands on Thursday, January 22nd, at 7:30 p.m. in the Casa Loma Room. This free event is co-sponsored by the departments of Creative Writing, Race & Ethnic Studies, English, and Campus Diversity & Inclusion.
Rankine will read from her collection of poetry, Citizen: An American Lyric, which was a finalist for the 2014 National Book Award in Poetry. Her poems address the effects of racism in the media and modern life.Citizen follows the 2004 publication of Don't Let Me Be Lonely: An American Lyric. Both books are available for checkout in the Library.
