What you need to do to get ready for our new system: ILS Update #4
What's happening June 30, 2017?
- Armacost library’s new discovery service, Primo, will go live!
- Our staff will also be busy behind the scenes settling into two more new systems.
What do you need to do now to get ready?
- Back up saved searches and saved items in your library account. They cannot be transferred into the new system. Use these instructions or Ask Your Librarian if you need help.
- Delete any browser bookmarks pointing to the old library search interface (https://books.redlands.edu) or to specific books, journals or databases before June 30. Links to specific items will be different in our new system.
How will I log in?
- You’ll use your campus email address and password. If you’ve already logged in to MyRedlands, Moodle or another campus service, you’re automatically good to go!
How will I run a search?
- You’ll continue to use the familiar tabbed search boxes on the library home page to find Books & More, Course Reserves, and Journals & Magazines. Searching in these boxes will automatically connect you into the new system.
- Be sure to log in immediately after running a search. The new system needs to know you’re with the University of Redlands in order to show your options for getting full text.
Anything else I should know about the transition?
- If you placed a hold on an item in Millennium just before the migration date, you might need to re-request that item after go live.
- If you’re a faculty member looking to submit a course reserve request, keep using the request form for now. We’re working on improving the request process, so stay tuned!
